Abusive relationship??? Please help?

I am very embarrassed about this question, but I need advice. My boyfriend can be a very manipulative and somewhat emotionally abusive person. We have been together for two years. In May, he told me he would break up with me if I did not write his 8 page paper for him. I was so mad that I just kept pushing him and saying I hated him. Last week, he told me that I was "f*cking annoying and stupid". I got mad and used my foot to kick him off the bed. I have only shoved or done this twice, but now he is saying that I am abusive and that he is afraid of me. I feel like a terrible person right now. I don't know what to do. Please help.
